Business NH Magazine is looking for the best places to work in NH—the businesses whose employees love their jobs, have great benefits, are treated fairly and take pride in the work they do. The competition is open to companies with headquarters in NH, companies with headquarters elsewhere and 100 or more employees in NH, or smaller out-of state companies that employe the majority (50% plus 1) of their workforce in NH.
THE APPLICATION IS ONLINE ONLY. We will not be accepting applications by mail or e-mail, and the online application does not accept photos. The application deadline is Wednesday, September 14, after which the online form will no longer be available.
The application is quite extensive. We suggest you answer the questions in a word document, save them and copy them into this form. Click here for a word document of the entire application.
RULES: Winners will be selected in two categories: Large Companies (100 or more employees) and Small Companies (fewer than 100 employees). Don't let the size of your company hold you back. We encourage small companies to enter and share their best practices. This competition is about more than benefits. It honors companies that have creative and innovative work environments that attract and retain employees.
Points will be deducted for incomplete applications. Responses to most questions are limited to 500 words or less.
PROCESS: Business NH Magazine Staff do an initial round of judging on the basis of company culture, employee development, mission statement, employee statements and benefits, thus whittling the field to 20 semi-finalists. Judges then conduct site visits for those 20 companies and a third set of judges choose the 10 winners. Company leadership (president, CEO, COO, EVP, GM) must be available to meet with judges during the site tours, which are expected to take place between Sept. 26 and Oct. 7 (those dates are subject to change). The site tours also include an interview with a focus group of employees. The winners will be profiled in the December 2011 issue of Business NH Magazine.
