2018 Business Leader of the Year Competition

Business NH Magazine and the NH Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives invite you to enter the 2018 Business Leader of the Year competition.

This is an opportunity to celebrate excellence in their companies and specifically those who lead them. One business leader will be chosen.To qualify, business leaders should have a long-standing tradition of significant contributions to their communities and industries. Winners of the 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 competitions are not eligible to apply.

THE APPLICATION IS ONLINE ONLY. The application deadline is January 12, 2018, after which the online form will no longer be available.

Please note the application is quite extensive. Answer each of the five questions below in 1,000 words or less. We suggest you answer the questions in a word document, save them and copy them into this form. Scroll to the bottom of the form for the list of questions. Included in that list is a request for two recommendation letters.

Detailed Questions

1. Summarize the nominee's involvement with civic organizations, community service groups and fraternal societies. Include a list of offices held and awards of merit received at local, state, regional and/or national levels.


2. Summarize the nominee's contributions to his/her company and company's industry. Include a list of honors and awards.


3. Explain what distinguishes the nominee from business/community peers?


4. What does the nominee view as the most pressing issue within his/her community, business and industry? What solutions does the nominee offer?  


5. What is the nominee's vision for NH?


6. Provide two letters of recommendation from other business leaders. Letters need to include the name, address, profession, and telephone number of the references. These letters should explain, from the writer's perspective, why the nominee should be considered for Business Leader of the Year.

Email the letters to competitions@businessnhmagazine.com and have them titled "Business Leader recommendation for (insert name)."
