|BNH Announces the Best Companies to Work For for 2013|
|Published Wednesday, December 4, 2013|
Business NH Magazine has announced the 2013 Best Companies To Work For in NH in its December edition.
For 17 years, the magazine and its partner NH Businesses for Social Responsibility have recognized businesses that go out of their way to create fun and high engagement workplaces for their employees through the Best Companies to Work For competition. This year’s Best Companies to Work For exemplify how developing a respectful, creative and supportive corporate culture can bring a company to new heights.
Companies must go through two rounds of judging. The first round winnows the field to 20 semi-finalists—10 large companies (more than 100 employees) and 10 small companies. The second round, which includes site visits to all 20 companies and interviews with focus groups of employees, then narrows the field to the 10 winning companies—five large and five small.
Hypertherm in Hanover continues to impress both its associates and judges, winning the Number 1 Large Company to Work For in NH. It has been named to the Best Companies to Work For list 11 times—seven in the #1 position. That’s the most wins of any company. It is also the only company to be named to the magazine’s Hall of Fame twice. Wire Belt Company of America in Londonderry is the Number 1 Small Company to Work For in NH. Wire Belt was named to the Hall of Fame for the past two years. Back in the competition in 2013, the company racked up its fifth win.
Named to the Best Large Companies list are:
#1 - Hypertherm in Hanover (1,358 employees/1,078 in NH)
#2 - Newmarket International Inc. in Portsmouth (435 employees/ 240 in NH)
#3 - Lonza Biologics in Portsmouth (10,251 employees/765 in NH)
#4 - CCA Global Partners in Manchester (329 employees/106 in NH)

To celebrate the winners and the 17th year of the competition, Business NH Magazine and NH Businesses for Social Responsibility will host Breakfast With The Best on Feb. 14, 2014, at the Radisson Hotel in Manchester. The event, held on Valentine’s Day with the theme “Love Your Employees,” will feature panels from the winning companies discussing best practices.
