Red Sox Lottery Ticket Scoring Home Run
Published Wednesday, April 8, 2009

As the hometown team prepares to kick off their season, officials from the New Hampshire Lottery have announced sales of their latest instant game, “Boston Red Sox™,” have surpassed tickets sales for similarly priced tickets.  In the three weeks the game has been available from retailers, it has out-performed the first three week sales of any other $5 ticket from the NH Lottery.

“These are very encouraging sales figures. We’re pleased,” said Executive Director Rick Wisler. “The New Hampshire Lottery has been trying many new things to increase sales, including offering instant games featuring licensed brand products. The combination of a familiar brand – the Boston Red Sox® - and the chance to win cash and MLB Authentic Collection™ merchandise seems to be getting more and more players to step up to the plate.”

So far, the ticket has brought in $765,000 and is currently the number one selling $5 scratch ticket, outselling the number two $5 instant game by 20 percent.
