#3 Best Company to Work For in NH

For the past two decades, Business NH Magazine has partnered with NH Businesses for Social Responsibility to seek out NH’s best employers. Companies completed an extensive survey detailing their benefits packages and workplace practices. An employee engagement survey, administered by The Employee Engagement Group, had to be completed by at least 50 percent of a company’s workforce.

After analyzing the results of the employee engagement surveys and employer practices, the applicant pool was whittled down to 19 winning companies. Bruce Mast & Associates organized tours of the 12 highest scoring companies to determine the ranking of the top 10. Executives and HR professionals served as site tour judges, interviewing CEOs, hosting employee focus groups and touring facilities. Here is a profile of one of the winning companies:

Top Employee Engagement Survey Measures:
- I can keep a reasonable balance between work and personal life: 95.2% agree
- My firm provides opportunities to socialize and celebrate special events: 95.2% agree

Company Highlights: Annual bonus plan ranging from 2% to 11% of gross salary; company contributed 6.4% of employees’ earnings to their retirement plan; hourly employees receive a $50 check on their birthdays; raffle tickets to music and sports events; catered department luncheons to welcome new employees; new employees asked by HR how they liked to be recognized for their work; thank you cards and gift cards regularly given by managers; benefits provided to part-time workers; company pays 100 percent of employee premiums for health, dental and vision plans; offers 225 hours of paid parental leave after birth or adoption for moms and dads; onsite gym; onsite fitness coach and exercise classes; formal six-week leadership program for hourly employees considering a management path; free monthly massages;  paid volunteer time off and $200 company match to employee’s choice of charity.
