Dianne Mercier, NH president of People's United Bank, was selected as Citizen of the Year by the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce (GMCC). She will receive the award at the Chamber's 2017 Annual Dinner and Citizen of the Year Celebration on Thursday, April 20th at the Radisson Hotel in Manchester.
Launched in 1954, the GMCC's Annual Dinner recognizes an outstanding individual who demonstrates exemplary vision, civic pride and commitment to the betterment of the Manchester community.
In a joint letter announcing the award, Andy Crews, president and CEO of AutoFair, and Mike Skelton, president and CEO of GMCC, wrote that "As NH President of People’s United Bank, [Mercier] has achieved incredible success in the banking industry while at the same time giving back by guiding and supporting numerous non-profit organizations as a board member, community leader, and fundraiser. [She] represents the very essence of the Citizen of the Year award as someone who has achieved business success while giving selflessly to the community."
Crews was GMCC's 2016 Citizen of the Year and is chairing this year's annual dinner. More information on the event can be found here,
