Thomas Burack

In the Spotlight: Thomas S. Burack, a shareholder at Sheehan Phinney Bass & Green in Manchester and former Commissioner of the NH Department of Environmental Services, received the 2017 Founders Award from The Environmental Council of States. The purpose of the Council is to improve the capability of state environmental agencies and their leaders to protect and improve human health and the environment of the U.S. The Founders Award recognizes alumni who have substantially contributed to the council’s mission, results, and reputation.

Robert Gilbert joined the healthcare consulting practice at Baker Newman Noyes as a senior manager in the firm’s Portsmouth office. He specializes in operational processes including charge master reviews and optimization, accounts receivable cash acceleration, revenue cycle workflow redesigns, revenue integrity, claims review, charge capture audits and provider reimbursement.
Gilbert previously worked at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital in Dover, where he served as director of medical information and, before that, as manager of revenue integrity.

Harvey Construction in Manchester has been named the construction manager for the restoration and renovation of the Peterborough Library. The new 17,000 square foot design will add an additional 7,000 square feet of usable space to the library. Construction is scheduled to start in summer/fall of 2018.

The law firm of McLane Middleton, PA in Manchester hired attorneys Jacqueline A. Botchman, Joseph M. Rojas, and Michael E. Strauss. Botchman is an associate in the litigation department, Rojas is an associate in the corporate department (prior to joining McLane Middleton, he worked as in-house counsel for American Tower Corporation focusing on complex commercial negotiations and contract drafting; and Strauss is an associate in the firm’s litigation department. (Prior to joining McLane Middleton, he worked in the New York City office of an international law firm, where he represented clients in the entertainment and media industry.)

Edwin Smith of Hinsdale has been appointed to the Community College System board of trustees by Gov. Chris Sununu and the Executive Council.  Smith is a former member of the NH House of Representatives where he served seven terms, three terms as chairman of the Public Works Committee and one term as chairman of the State-Federal Relations & Veterans Affairs Committee. Smith also served as director of policy for the NH Dept. of Transportation.  He is currently an advisory board member for the Southwest Regional Planning Commission, and a member of the Hinsdale Commercial and Industrial Development Committee.

St. Mary’s Bank in Manchester has been awarded LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Gold certification for its McGregor Street headquarters. The LEED rating system, developed by the U.S. Green Building Council, is the foremost program for buildings, homes, and communities that are designed, constructed, maintained, and operated for improved environmental and human health performance. The McGregor Street headquarters was designed by Lavallee Brensinger Architects in Manchester.
