Best Companies to Work For Competition

clientuploads/GroupCheer.jpg
Being a best company means different things to different employers. Below are some common traits among 2015 winners:

  • 72% invite inmmediate family members to corporate events
  • 94% celebrate milestone anniversaries with a special gift
  • 55% subsidize gym memberships
  • 22% offer sabbaticals
  • 94% offer flexible hours
  • 17% offer adoption assistance
  • and 83% offer telecommuting options.

If you are reading these and thinking, 'We do that too," then apply for the Best Companies to Work For competition. If you are thinking, we don't do those things but we are innovative in other ways, then this competition is also for you.

The 2017 application will be available online on March 1.

Business NH Magazine and NH Businesses for Social Responsibility want to hear from  businesses whose employees love their jobs, have great benefits, are treated fairly and take pride in the work they do. The competition is open to any company with headquarters in NH. It is also open to companies with headquarters elsewhere but with 100 or more employees in NH or to smaller out-of-state companies that employ the majority (50 percent plus one) of their workforce in NH.

This year's application includes two streamlined online forms, one for employees and one for the employer. There is an entry fee of $775, and all applicants receive reports showing how they compare to other NH employers as well as national benchmarks for employee engagement.

The employee and employer surveys must be completed by 5 p.m. on May 20 and the employee survey must be completed by 50 percent of your workforce for NH-based companies or 50 percent of the NH workforce for out-of-state companies. The competition does not have a set number of winners, instead all companies that meet the threshold score will be honored. Last year that was 18 companies.

Is that virtual hand still raised?

What if your picture was on our cover just like Vapotherm in Exeter was last year letting our 50,000 monthly readers know what a great company they have? Well you can't win if you don't apply. Winners will be featured in our September issue.
